The clients were looking for a small side table that would hold a audio system. The design used the natural edge of the Yew wood, the white wavy layer of cambium on the edge to hint at the energy of sound as waves. All the wood used in this project are from salvaged trees. The top and the tapered legs are from a wind blown Garry Oak that we had milled and the Yew was salvaged from west coast clear cuts. There are two draws at either ends, the handles square to reflect the tenons, the Yew draw sides here are also cross laminated at the back to provide sufficient structural strength. Finished with Shellac and Tung Oil. 35″ long x 25″ high x 12.5″ wide.
