Chest of draws and Round side table; December 2017.

Two commissions for furniture that began as photographs the clients had taken of pieces they had liked. The first a chest of draws (or bureau) with an Asian influence in the design. The wood I used in its construction is mostly reclaimed White Pine, the base for strength is Fir, draws soft closing Bluhm motion slides and all handles are custom made. It is finished with Poly oil and Tung oil, dimensions; length 72″, height 36″ depth 20″.

The second photograph was a round side table that again has some Asian influence in the design. The piece, with anything that is round or curved, had some challenges to it and cost/time restraints lead me to use quite a bit of plywood laminates to create the 16 decorative panels. It was stained with Potassium Permanganate and a light stain, finished with Tung Oil, dimensions; height 23″, diameter 22″.
